Skate Rental Form

B/CSSC Skate Rental Policy 2009/10

The BCSSC Skate Rental Program is a volunteer service provided by the club to help skaters get started at a reasonable cost. Once the skater is advanced enough to use intermediate or top-of-the-line equipment, they should consider purchasing their own skates, either new or through the second-hand market.

The renter cannot make unreasonable demands on the club regarding skate sizes, quality or services provided.

  1. Renters must be a Club member in good standing.
  2. Skates are to be paid for in full before removing from the Club.
  3. Skaters must care for skates (sharpening, cleaning, laces, etc.) according to generally accepted procedures prescribed by the Club.
  4. Skaters must accept responsibility for any loss or damage beyond normal wear and make good such damages.
  5. BCSSC reserves the right to ask for the return of the skates at any time. This includes Club activities such as Open Houses or Outreach Clinics.
  6. The fees are stated on the registration form and subject to revision each season.
  7. A cheque for a refundable rental deposit must provided for each pair of skates. This will be returned upon return of the skates.
  8. All skates must be returned at the end of the season (April) for inventory purposes. At that time they should be shined, sharpened and contain proper laces.

Any member renting skates through this program accepts these rules and agrees to abide by them.
